Richard Mille RM 011 Felipe Massa Flyback Chronograph – Titalyt® Grey

The RM 011 is one of the watches that made Richard Mille's name. It was designed with Formula 1 driver Felipe Massa, and this version pairs the model's racing background with a stealthy grey Titalyt® finish.

Case & design

The case is the brand's signature tonneau shape, made in three parts from grade 5 titanium. It has been given a Titalyt® treatment, a surface process that makes the titanium harder and more resistant to scratches and wear, and gives it an even matte grey colour. The case is light but solid on the wrist. It curves along its length for a close fit, and a sapphire crystal sits on both the front and the back.

Movement

Inside is the in-house automatic calibre RMAC1, which is skeletonised so you can see its architecture through the open dial. Its main features:

• Flyback chronograph with a 60-minute totaliser and a 24-hour counter
• Annual calendar showing the big date and the month, which only needs correcting once a year
• Variable-geometry rotor that adjusts how fast the watch winds to suit how active the wearer is
• About 55 hours of power reserve
• Titanium baseplate and bridges for rigidity and low weight

Dial & details

The dial is skeletonised, with contrasting chronograph registers, luminous hands and hour markers, and a date aperture at 12 o'clock. It has the technical, engineered look Richard Mille is known for.

Strap

It comes on a comfortable black rubber strap with a titanium folding clasp.
